Molybdenum is a trace element
found in almost all plant and animal tissue. It helps the body
use iron and is stored in the liver, kidneys, bones and teeth.
Natural Food Sources
Beans, dark green leafy vegetables, lean meats, legumes, organ
meats.
Main Functions
Molybdenum forms part of xanthine oxidase, an enzyme involved in
converting nucleic acid to uric acid. It also helps promote
normal growth and development, and may prevent anemia, tooth
decay and impotency.
Deficiency Symptoms
Deficiency in molybdenum is rare and no symptoms have been
reported.
